Devoshum Moodley-Veera is the Chairperson of the ICFP Gauteng Regional Committee. Moodley-Veera is a seasoned professional who is multi-disciplined in internal auditing, external auditing, ethics, compliance, risk management, forensic investigations, information technology, law and governance. She holds a total of 23 years of experience with most of her experience gained as an Executive in the public sector. Positions held thus far are Chief Audit Executive, Head of Investigations, Audit and Risk Management, Head of Compliance and Risk to name a few.
Moodley-Veera holds a number of qualifications and professional certifications. She is a civil society activist and not afraid to speak out especially in making a positive difference to society. She advocates for the protection of whistleblowers and is involved in a number of voluntary organisations dedicated to influencing regulatory changes with regards to anti-corruption measures. She is passionate in transforming the fields of governance, law, investigations and auditing. She was instrumental in developing a number of anti-corruption policies and procedures in the public sector. She has recently graduated at the University of Pretoria with a masters qualification in fraud risk management with distinctions. Her journal article will be published titled “A proposed framework for lifestyle audits in South Africa”. She is also passionate in educating and mentoring individuals. She recently embarked in a project where she has introduced a forum for forensic investigations. She also contributes as an author in various anti-corruption newsletters discussing key topics.
Theresa Walters started her career in 1982 as a banker at First National bank and after six years joined Nedbank.Throughout her career she has been around the bank in several roles ranging from Junior to Senior posts.She joined the Nedbank Group Forensics team in 2009 as a Fraud Risk Consultant.She holds a certificate in Criminal Justice and completed all the Commercial Forensic Practitioner modules offered by North-West University.
